Captive breeding again?

Some of you may have seen Adam Kereszy present at ANGFA Qld meetings or conventions. He's been working hard on red-finned blue-eye conservation (Australia's most endangered freshwater fish) for many years. He's back in the news as Bush Heritage Australia is hoping to get permission to establish (or re-establish for those of you who remember having them in the past) captive populations this year.
