Exactly, if the males are in the "mood" they get dark and red/purple/green/blue intensifies, you see the typical black vertical fasciata-stripes. If they are calm, the yellow-golden colour comes more out, you see this in 2 of Christophe's photos. What I like most with these chilatherinas, but is impossible to catch in a 2-dimensional static photo, is the changing of the structural colors (yellow-green-red-blue) due to motion - like the sparkling of a jewel...
But if you are looking for
the real golden colour, you should have a look at the females - like pure gold!
