Rainbowfishes ~ Their Care & Keeping in Captivity
Adrian R. Tappin

Rainbowfishes ~ Their Care & Keeping in Captivity is a comprehensive and illustrated guide to the remarkable rainbowfishes found in Australia and New Guinea. It is an indispensable reference manual for anyone interested in keeping rainbowfishes in captivity. The book provides a tremendous amount of information for anyone from beginner to experienced keeper on just about everything needed to keep and breed rainbowfishes successfully. Detailed easy to follow sections guide the reader through all aspects of their care and keeping in captivity. The information provided covers topics such as distribution, habitats, collecting, shipping, keeping and caring, how to successfully breed and raise rainbowfishes, foods and feeding, disease treatment and prevention, and much more. A comprehensive illustrated species section is also provided.

In this book the rainbowfish keeper is provided with proven, practical methods for the successful management and propagation of rainbowfishes to ensure they can maintain long-term self-sustainable populations. It is the authors' hope that this book will assist rainbowfish keepers in achieving this goal. No other publication currently exists that brings together all the methods and techniques for successfully keeping rainbowfishes in captivity.

The book combines the authors' years of experience with scientifically researched information from around the globe. This information together with excellent photographs of most of the known species of rainbowfishes from recognised hobbyists world-wide have contributed to make this a truly international rainbowfish reference book.

Adrian,

Thank you very much for alerting me to this download.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. :D
The ebook looks amazing and exactly the type of book I've been looking for.
At 400 plus pages, it gonna take me a while to read it.

Please tell me where I can buy the hardcopy version (if possible in the UK)

Again Thank you.

I forgot to mention that you can navigate through the book using either the bookmarks or by clicking on any subject within the content pages. Adobe Reader 7 or higher is required!

There is no hardcopy available! There will be a "print-quality" version (approx. 175 MB) available shortly if anyone wishes to print the book. However, there is little difference between the "screen" version or the "print" version when viewed on a computer screen.

Wow thank you so much,

I've been going through the start this evening, it's exceptionally comprehensive, and a really good read. I absolutely agree with Malcolm's sentiment -- I've been looking for a book with this sort of content, but could never quite find one. And it's competitive priced too :D. It's great to see the habitat photos and a medical section.

Now if only someone would do one about plants...but I guess this board is about rainbowfish.

Adrian,
i'm missionned by bowlovers from a french forum to thank you for this gift. They noticed and appreciate that you did this work for free when other authors want to be paid for each line they write.
They should take some lessons from you.
So THANK YOU.

I would like to give you the same feedback from a German rainbowfish forum. :D Only for this reason (the eBook) it is worth training the English language; but those without English knowledge at all, are asking for a German translation...

Hello Dirk,

I am prepare to do a German language version if someone or somebodies would like to do the translations, providing the translation is done as per the book layout, e.g., by paragraph, by page. I would think that a translated German text would fit the same space as the english text, maybe with just a little adjustment. That way all I would have to do is to paste the German translated text into the text boxes in the desktop publishing program?

That would be a good project for you Dirk :friends:

Adrian, I will watch out for someone who is willing (and has the time!) to translate. But if there would be a small group sharing the translation work...

this is amazing Adrian. i'm still downloading but just having a rough idea of how much you know, i can only expect the book to be exactly what the rainbowfish community needed.
I am interested in the print-quality copy. will the book ever be made available for purchase? if not, i'm taking the file to Kinko's or one of those places and have them print it out for me :D

thank you!
