Blue-eyes (Pseudomugilidae) are a small family comprising around 18 species in three genera. They are found in freshwater rivers and swamps, and brackish estuaries along the eastern coast of Australia, from southern New South Wales to northern Queensland, across the Northern Territory to northern Western Australia and coastal areas in southern New Guinea, plus almost all the surrounding offshore islands.
